I always have my eye out for coincidences, things that happen to me right when I need them to happen. And this one was a doozy. On Friday, March 4, after wrapping up my first full week in this new role leading People, I attended the memorial service for the magazine’s founder, Richard B. Stolley. Dick, the editor of this magazine until 1982, died June 16, 2021, at age 92. The evening gathered dozens of writers, reporters, editors and photographers who had worked for the brand and featured powerful stories about Dick as a journalist—he secured the Zapruder film of Kennedy’s assassination while working at Life magazine—visionary, mentor, friend and father. For me, the most personally stirring words of the night came from his lifelong friend and one of People’s…

MOTHER-DAUGHTER MOMENT It was just a regular day at the office for Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber, who both walked in the Feb. 28 Off-White show, which honored the brand’s late founder Virgil Abloh. “You changed the world,” Gerber wrote in a tribute to the designer. When Zoë Kravitz stepped out for the premiere of The Batman, the new DC Comics film in which she stars as Catwoman, in New York City on March 1, two of her biggest fans were on hand: her boyfriend Channing Tatum and stepdad, Jason Momoa. The day prior, Tatum and Momoa—who announced his split from Kravitz’s mom, Lisa Bonet, in January after four years of marriage but remains close to Zoë—had flown in together from L.A. on a private jet to be there on Kravitz’s big day. “Channing has been telling friends how proud he is of Zoë for her role in The Batman movie,” says a source. “He is a huge fan of her acting.” Tatum, 41, and Kravitz, 33, first sparked romance buzz in January 2021, when the Big…
Has Kanye West gone too far this time? The rapper received major backlash over the new music video for his song “Eazy,” in which a claymation lookalike of Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend Pete Davidson is kidnapped and buried alive. “Kim is furious over the video,” an insider says of Kardashian, 41, who filed for divorce from West, 44, in February 2021 after seven years of marriage and has been dating Saturday Night Live star Davidson, 28, since October. “She thinks it’s way too violent, and she is really upset with Kanye that he would do this.” In recent months West has made several disparaging comments about Davidson on social media, prompting his fans to harass the comedian online. On March 6 West seemingly defended the video on Instagram, writing, “Art…
