DAVID GOLDMAN Photographer David (seen here with his daughter Georgie) shoots hunk-with-a-horse (and a polo stick) Nic Roldan (page 94) If you could get away with one crime, what would it be? Steal all the sweeties in the world. What never fails to make you laugh? Slapstick – love a man falling down a hole. What’s your favourite joke? How does Moses make his coffee? Hebrews it. CATHERINE BLYTH Catherine reports on body clocks (page 114) What’s your go-to fancy-dress costume? The Midlife Crisis (toyboy arm-candy optional). If you could get away with one crime, what would it be? I would rid the world of the internet and all attendant gadgetry, to see if people remembered how to hold a proper conversation. Which super-power would you most like to have and why? A pause switch and rewind button, for children and time. SOPHIE GOODWIN Tatler’s fashion director…

bianca brandolini d’adda

Bianca Brandolini d’Adda is a model, a Friend of the Cartier Maison*, an Italian aristocrat and a powerful social influencer, with 144,000 Instagram followers. ‘It was never my aim, it just happened,’ the 30-year-old explains when we talk on the phone – she is at an airport, as is often the case. Today it’s Venice, last week it was LAX, en route to the Panthère de Cartier launch (she’s wearing a Panthère watch in this picture). Born into an ancient Venetian family, she is related to several European royal houses, including the Fürstenbergs and the Hohenlohe-Langenburgs (try spelling that after a few limoncellos). Not that you’ll be seeing images of ancestral palazzi on her account: ‘I don’t feel right sharing those.’ Instead, it’s all pictures of dancing at parties with…

Everyone speaks the language of gingham. It is an old, old friend. But guess what? Gingham grew up and got glam. An approachable, sunny glam kept slick through its reliance on monochrome. So don’t think you can go all Dorothy blue or Christmassy red or cowgirl brown or ice-creamy yellow or high-school virgin pink. Absolutely not. Latter-day gingham is black and white or – at a push – navy and white. And it’s a head-to-toe situation, which you can cheat with a really good gingham summer coat. Oh, the myriad joys of the summer coat, the blissfully forgiving nature of the summer coat. Otherwise, it’s matching separates (as cut away or covered up as you please) or full-on frocks; ballgowns, even. The secret is commitment. Surrender to the mood and…

coloured suits

Be not afraid of the trousersuit. True, it is a little fierce. But tame it and it can become a powerful ally. And this autumn is the time to find your trousersuit friend, because every breed and species are knocking around the fashion jungle. All colours, all shapes: single-breasted, double-breasted, slouchy, slick, boxy, wide-legged, cigarette-panted. The only rule is: no black. Right now – although Le Tux will always work in the evening – a black daytime trousersuit runs the risk of looking a little municipal. Humourless. Po-faced. Worthy. The world is your rainbow, and although the jacket and trouser should match, we almost tearfully encourage you to go as nuts as possible with blouses and belts and coats.…

the algae aficionado

Quincy Allan showed early entrepreneurial flair as a 17-year-old pupil at King’s Canterbury, where he designed branded hoodies to flog to other pupils for £40. ‘They could go on the chit,’ he says, ‘Our young enterprise group made more money than any other school in the country that year. So much that our teacher had to hide the full amount because she thought it was too much.’ Now 32, he’s just left the oil and gas industry to launch another business. A seaweed business, which makes a powdered health supplement called Kelp Me. Quincy studied geology at Imperial, so he’s something of a boffin and can dazzle you with seaweed stats: kelp has 10 times more calcium than milk, and Kelp Me contains a soluble, glutinous fibre called glucomannan that is…
