What’s the state bird of Florida? The construction crane. This old joke is making the rounds again as the Sunshine State comes roaring out of pandemic shutdowns. With populations surging southward, residential and commercial markets are now red hot. The strength in the real estate arena is allowing unique projects to come out of the ground and a renovation wave is rolling across the landscape. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since the onset of the pandemic that forced us all to re-examine our routines, our habits, and the very way we live. While it’s been a challenging year, to say the least, it has also had a number of bright spots. For starters, people began to look at home in a different way, committing to renovations and builds that kept the design and construction industry going strong when other sectors were struggling. And it continues in that trajectory to this day.
