Philip Greenlees | Pinelands REGARDING Wednesday’s Cape Times, “Comment” column by Alex Mohubetswane Mashilo, it took just the first two paragraphs to realise that this had to have been written by someone who is antipathetic towards democracy.
The whole commentary was knitted together with the usual clichés, like “imperialist regime”, “imperialist expansion”, “bourgeoisie”, “oppressive” and so on. Not very creative, Mr Mashilo.
Remember the CCCP (USSR)? In this case, I’d like to offer Cloying Clichéd Communist Publiciser as an alternative.
Finally, perhaps my understanding of politics is lacking, but how does Mr Mashilo, as a member of the SACP central committee, reconcile his communist leanings with his desire for “genuine democracy”?…
