Our admiration for the Springboks has soared to new heights. The team encapsulated the best of South African endeavour where much hard work, long hours, personal sacrifice, total commitment to the cause and tenacity – despite setbacks – brought home the cup. In addition to the 23 who played in the final, the other team members were in support, cheering their teammates to collective and national glory.
The successful path to the Cup began years ago with a shared vision, and, powered by thorough planning, innovative and goal-orientated people management, as well as complete buy-in from the team, reaped unprecedented success. For a few days, the Springboks’ achievement has united the focus of our divided nation. (“Stronger Together” was the team’s rallying call.)
