I READ the letter in The Mercury (April 19) from Saber Ahmed Jazbhay, and I am compelled to respond.
Yes, apartheid was a crime against humanity. Yes, many thousands of people suffered under the regime. Yes, reparation is certainly needed to assuage the immeasurable hurt caused.
But, Mr Jazbhay, such reparation has long since been delivered. It was in the form of the entire entity known as South Africa being handed on a silver platter to the ANC in 1994. Unconditional.
And then what happened? The ANC, over the years since then, has systematically wrecked, broken, and ruined everything that was given to it. So, as far as I care, payment has been made in full.
