Though the class of 2021’s academic year was also threatened by the coronavirus, this did not stop Andonia Papavarnava from achieving an average of 93.3%, and a full house of 10 distinctions in mathematics, English home language, life orientation, Afrikaans first additional language, Modern Greek, physical science, life sciences, accounting, advanced programme mathematics and advanced programme English.
With this academic success, the 18-year-old placed third in the school for her final results.
Papavarnava has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking in the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects.
