from the editor: full house

Where do I even start? It’s been such a huge month for Home Beautiful, and for me, in my first month back from maternity leave. I’ve come back to a magazine that’s thriving, thanks to the steady guiding hand of our amazing managing editor, Katrina O’Brien, who led the HB team as they embarked upon some pretty exciting projects. See the results from page 64, and don’t miss it online, where we’re sharing videos featuring each of the gorgeous room reveals. Then there’s our new collaboration with the International School of Colour & Design (ISCD). We’re thrilled to launch Styling Essentials, an online course that…

precinct: oxford st, paddington

The lifeline thoroughfare between Sydney’s CBD and its Eastern Suburbs, Oxford Street’s shopping strip has lived many lives. In the 1940s, it was a quaint village hub filled with butchers and grocers. It thrived throughout the ’80s as a fashion-leading destination. Now, after a short lull, it has come back to life – one homewares store at a time. 1 | CANVAS HOME INTERIORS Immaculately organised and enviably stylish, Canvas Home Interiors is quite literally a one-stop-shop for bringing fashion into the home. Walls are lined with statement-making prints and the bookshelves are overflowing with a coffee table-worthy collection that’ll make you weak at the knees. “Whatever we see on the catwalk, we bring here,” says director Sally Mollaian. “We don’t follow homeware trends, we follow the colour palettes, styles and textures…
