MANY MAJOR CAR events and launches have been postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and one of the more tantalising was the relaunch of the Maserati brand, pushed back from May to September. Maserati has been promised a lot by its Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) owner over the past decade or more but given the chance to deliver very little. And what has come from Maserati – the likes of the Ghibli and Levante – has been well short of rivals such as Porsche and Mercedes-AMG. Now there is a new plan, and an even more ambitious one at that.
