For the first time in two years, I’m writing this letter from the deck of a yacht – a yacht in Greece, to be precise, where I’m wringing the last few drops from the Med season. The water is still 23 degrees, the beach clubs are just about open but there is no one around – it’s like we have the entire Aegean to ourselves. Just before Greece I was in Saudi Arabia visiting Neom, a vast territory on the kingdom’s Red Sea coast and part of its Vision 2030. Revealing the latest news, trends and tech Set to take on polar expeditions following delivery, Feadship’s 55-metre custom explorer Shinkai (Japanese for “deep sea”) has emerged from the shed for the first time. The yacht is designed by Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yachts design studio and features a gyro stabilisation system that Feadship estimates to be the largest built to date. Scheduled to be handed over to her owner later this year, Shinkai is equipped with an Ice Class hull, advanced sonar system for exploring the ocean floor and a 7.2-tonne submarine. IJE €175 MILLION The 108-metre motor yacht has been listed for sale by Burgess. Built by Italian yard Benetti to a design by RWD, she was delivered in 2019 and is the longest yacht ever built by the yard. MIA ELISE II $38 MILLION The 60.4-metre meter yacht has been listed for sale by Fraser. She was delivered by Trinity Yachts in 2012 and features vibrant interiors by Patrick Knowles Designs. brokerage boom continues in q3

Lead infographic stats powered by BOAT PRO Strong brokerage sales continued into the third quarter of 2021, with transactions up 24 per cent on the same period last year and 51 per cent up on 2019 levels, according to BOAT Pro data. Between July and September this year 142 new and pre-owned superyachts were sold by brokers, compared with 114 in Q3 2020 and 94 for the same period in 2019.
