It’s going to be an Escort-based summer at the shows across Europe, as a number of clubs and events are organising special displays, races and more to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary.Kicking off proceedings next month, the Clube Dos Amantes Dos Ford Escort Mk1 e Mk2 are hosting an anniversary event for the early cars in Aveiro, with support from Ford of Portugal of the Forde Sierra PT Club.The following month, Simply Ford is hosting a special Escort display on May 6 at Beaulieu, while on May 20, the Duchy Classic Ford Club are celebrating 50 years of the whole range at their annual show near Newquay, Cornwall.Naturally, the Classic Ford Show isn’t going to ignore this important milestone, and we’re putting together a special 30-car display to celebrate…

Entries are almost closed for this year’s Great Unveiling at the Classic Ford Show.We’re on the lookout for new projects and rebuilds that will be finished in time for the show, which takes place at Santa Pod Raceway on June 3.The best five will then be revealed in front of thousands of enthusiasts. Prior to the unveiling, the cars will be kept under wraps so as not to spoil the surprise for the visiting public, and after the show all will be photographed for exclusive, full-length features in Classic Ford magazine.
