One of the longest-running and most-respected classic Ford specialists suffered a serious fire at their premises last month, destroying almost all their stock. The restoration and parts specialist run by Graeme Worthington, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2019, had its two units almost completely destroyed after it’s believed faulty equipment at a wheel specialist next door caught fire — badly damaging six units on the Widnes industrial estate where GS Escorts has been based since 2004. “We’ve lost 90 per cent of our stock of new and used parts, and unfortunately, a couple of our customer’s cars were badly damaged too, though one is saveable.
