FFRONTEND YOUR EYE ON THE WORLDWIDE CLASSIC FORD SCENE NO MORE MOT CERTIFICATES? Infamous paperwork now on-demand only The MoT test certificate has finally been consigned to history in the UK. Since the end of August, Test Stations have no longer had to issue aVT20 pass certificate automatically — though customers are still able to request one. They are also still available for download from the MoT history check service at www.gov.uk/check-mot-history if vehicle details includingV5C reference number are keyed in. TheVT20 lost its legal status some time ago, being replaced as definitive proof of test status by the online record when the plain paper certificate was introduced. FORD RAIDS HERITAGE AGAIN Ford’s European design chief Murat Güler has suggested in an interview with Autocar that Ford may revive more of its old badges for upcoming models. The trend kicked off with the reworked Kuga name, followed by the resurrection of the Puma badge and of course the reinvention of the Mustang name for the EV age. Güler’s justification is that using a familiar name adds credibility to the very different designs set to arrive in the near future and although he declined to pick specific names, could this mean a return of some old favourites?
