MAX RIVE NETHERLANDS Cerro Torre, Patagonia, Argentina Max is the overall winner of International Landscape Photographer of the Year, and this shot won International Landscape Photograph of the Year – the first time one photographer has claimed both awards in the same year. INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2017 International Landscape Photographer of the Year is an annual competition celebrating the art and craft of landscape photography. Each year the judges select 101 of the best landscape photographs, which are compiled into a book, as well as rewarding the best single photographs, and the best portfolios. ORGANISERS of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards have revealed that almost 320,000 entries from photographers across 200 countries and territories were entered in the competition – the highest number of entries to date. The World Photography Awards feature four distinct competitions – Professional, Open, Youth and Student Focus – with the Professional and Open contests each having 10 categories. All the shortlisted Professional and Open photographers’ works will go on to compete to become category winners, with the chance of being named Photographer of the Year (winning $25,000) or Open Photographer of the Year (which has a $5,000 prize).
