In professional football, each team has 11 players. A game is played with one referee and two assistant referees, whose job is to make sure all of the rules are followed. Pushing, kicking another player, arguing with the referees and holding the ball are not allowed. They are called ‘fouls’. If a player fouls, they get a yellow card. If they get two yellow cards in one match, they are given a red card and sent home! No one is allowed to use their hands, except the goalkeeper, who tries to stop the ball from going into the net!
