hooray for sports day
Dot and Pat love sports day, where they get to play all manner of sports. Badminton is played with a racquet and a shuttlecock, which has 16 feathers. A long time ago, tennis balls were white, instead of yellow as they are now. You play table tennis with a little plastic ball and a small racquet called a paddle. In basketball, bouncing the ball up and down is called dribbling. There are many ways to enjoy gymnastics: jumping over a vault, balancing on a beam or twisting and turning around on a bar. Running is fun because it can be done anywhere and doesn’t require any equipment. Diving is a great sport for those who love to jump off things!
