Set within more than 50 acres of parkland, the walled garden at Belcombe Court is a little over one acre. On a steeply sloping site, in spring it is planted with rows of tulips. Selected primarily for cutting, the list of cultivars grown at Belcombe reads like a roll call of the most prized and sought-after tulips – from the square-petalled to the scented to the exquisitely f lashed.
