If decades of cinema have taught us anything, it's that the development of Artificial Intelligence will one day lead to humanity's downfall at the hands of murderous machines. That may still happen, but in the meantime it's being used to spruce up our AV enjoyment. Philips' OLED805 TV (p38) is the latest upper-tier flatscreen to boast AI processing. It's a term widely adopted by the world's TV giants, and no doubt a marketeer's dream. But for all the technological talk of deep learning and neural networks, it's hard to deny the evidence in front of your eyes. Image processing on modern flatscreens has come on leaps and bounds.
