JOONEY WOODWARD /PHOTOGRAPHER ‘My driving force is to take photographs that reveal the joy in being human,’ says Jooney. Having studied graphic design at Camberwell College of Arts, she spent seven years working in the Vogue archives, during which time she became ‘immersed in the world of photography and the work of some of the world’s greatest photographers’. In 2011, she was awarded the National Portrait Gallery Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize: ‘I was blown away – it was my favourite exhibition to visit as a student.’ For this issue, she shot the striking portrait of Climate Crusaders Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones (on pages 124-125). ‘It was fascinating to hear about their methods and processes,’ says Jooney.
