those of you who’ve been following the progress reports on the renovation of my house may well be expecting to hear that by now it’s all done… but it’s not. And that’s because, towards the end of last year, my mindset shifted from a total focus on getting the job done to what we could get away with not doing. Was the existing flooring more than serviceable? Could we live with the old bath? In most cases, the answer was yes, we could make do and improve rather than replace.
