APPLE INTRODUCED iOS 14.5 TO THE PUBLIC IN APRIL, WHICH ALLOWED YOU TO OPT-IN OR OUT OF TRACKING ACROSS MULTIPLE APPS AND WEBSITES BY COMPANIES USING AN IDFA IDENTIFIER. Now a new report is suggesting that feature is starting to have serious implications for advertising giants like Facebook. According to Apple, tracking refers to “the act of linking user or device data collected from an app with user or device data collected from other companies’ apps, websites, or offline properties for targeted advertising or advertising measurement purposes. Tracking also refers to sharing user or device data with data brokers.” Now that apps are required to obtain your permission before this tracking can begin people are refusing permission, which is resulting in a significant drop in advertising revenue. New iPad Pro Apple launches lossless audio via Apple Music Apple has announced that it is going to start offering Lossless Audio and Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos from June. Spatial Audio gives artists the opportunity to create audio experiences for their fans with true multidimensional sound and clarity. You can hear Dolby Atmos music using the built-in speakers on a compatible iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, or HomePod. “Listening to a song in Dolby Atmos is like magic. The music comes from all around you and sounds incredible”, said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats. It used to be the case that choosing between a MacBook and an iPad was easy, but Apple has started to blur the lines between the two in ways that few of us could have expected. In terms of power, we have now reached parity thanks to the new iPad Pro which uses the same M1 chip as the MacBook Air and when you start to look at the storage onboard the comparisons become even closer. For example, you can buy a 12.9” iPad Pro for only £100 more than the equivalent 256GB MacBook Air, but if you opt for the 11” iPad Pro then you can pay only £50 more for 512GB of storage.
