Dear Reader, It doesn’t feel like summer as I compose this editor’s letter (a common sense of asymmetry, given how magazines operate on a schedule that is rarely in sync with the seasons). It’s late March, and although a few warm days have showered us in sunshine, there is currently snow on the ground, again. Colorado does love its spring snowstorms. Regardless, my mind is racing ahead to picnics with friends, beach days, and barbecues. All the things that make summer so magical suddenly seem possible again—COVID-19 vaccines are finally available to anyone age 16 or older in Colorado. It’s sooner than I expected, and my dreams of traveling across the country to spend the Fourth of July with my parents suddenly seem possible. I hope you, too, are feeling optimistic about…
