If you’re planning to attend a two-day Land Rover event in 2023, make it our Big Weekender – and being the middle of spring (20-21 May) we’re hoping for warmer climes than we’re experiencing now! Officially known as Land Rover Monthly Live, it celebrates 75 years of Land Rover and 25 years of LRM. The all-new event, hosted at the beautiful Malvern Three Counties Showground, features camping, a whole host of outdoor trade stands, arena displays, vehicle and club stands, an autojumble, Saturday live auction, a live events arena, entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening, and heaps more, including our special Hall of Fame. FOLLOWING the news of large-scale job losses from Twitter, Meta and others, JLR is opening a new jobs portal for displaced workers from the tech industry to explore career opportunities, offering hybrid working patterns. The car manufacturer has almost 800 career opportunities available as part of its plans to become more data-driven, and said it would be a chance to work on its ‘vehicles of the future’ with positions available in the UK, Ireland, USA, India, China and Hungary. The available roles span areas in autonomous driving, artificial intelligence, electrification, cloud software, data science, machine learning and many more. NORWICH’S new combined Jaguar Land Rover showroom is well and truly under way (as seen above), with the sprawling two-storey 3300 square metre facility expected to be ready by the end of next year. The site is predicted to create 80 jobs when it opens, providing Norfolk’s cathedral city with high-quality technical employment opportunities, as well as apprenticeship and training roles for school and college leavers. In addition to the showroom, there will be a workshop for MoTs, repairs, servicing, maintenance and valeting, as well as car and cycle parking. There’ll even be photovoltaic panels fixed to the roof to convert sunlight into electrical energy, which will be fed into the building’s electrical distribution system.
