That’s why we’ve been revisiting some of the age-old techniques in our embroidery arsenal and thinking about how we can work them into our modern makes. One of the very best things about being the editor of the UK’s biggest stitching magazine (in addition to all of you lovely readers, of course), is being able to collaborate with lots of ridiculously talented designers from all around the world. And for this issue, I had the great pleasure of working with US-based fibre artist Kristen Gula (aka Gulush Threads), to create this issue’s amazing Pride-month-inspired cover star. Bursting with rainbow blooms and featuring eight different stitches, it’s a design that you’ll find hard to put down once you’ve gotten started (‘…I’ll just finish this flower’), and gives us all a legitimate reason to dive into our stash of sparkly threads. Or stock up on a few new ones? As if we needed an excuse……
