Love Patchwork & Quilting Issue 57

It's only taken me a year, but I've finally cracked one of my long-term quilting goals – I am a Foundation Paper Piecing convert! Lots of our contributors have suggested that it would appeal to the perfectionist in me, and they were (of course) absolutely right. I'm sewing with an accuracy that I could never achieve without those little paper templates, and I love it! There were quite a few un-picked seams along the way, but I still feel giddy with the success of mastering a new technique. What next? Right now I feel like I could achieve anything, with a little practice, and I hope that this issue inspires you to take a step into the unknown – be brave – and sew something you love! They say that the winter holidays are the most wonderful time of the year… but you know what I say? They’re waaay to cold! If you’re like me, you’ve already started gathering all of the necessary tools to combat the winter wind. My go to items? Some great mittens, a huge travel mug and a good stash of wool and flannel. Creating some warm, fuzzy quilts is the only thing that gets me through the ridiculous freezing Chicago months.
