One of the most interesting products at Apple’s Peek Performance event in March was the Mac Studio, not just for its all-new design, but for the behemoth of a chip it contained. Apple is finally saying goodbye to the iPod – three years after the last iPod touch update, and over 20 since the first iPod made its debut. In a press release issued on 11 May, headed ‘The music lives on’ Apple stated: “iPod has captivated users all over the world who love the ability to take their music with them on the go. Today, the experience of taking one’s music library out into the world has been integrated across Apple’s product line — from iPhone and Apple Watch to iPad and Mac — along with access to more than 90 million songs and over 30,000 playlists.” And with that the iPod was gone, with the current iPod touch remaining available ‘while supplies last’.
