Taking the chance to get outdoors with your little one after months cooped up inside at home (or at soft play) is definitely something to celebrate! But if you live in a city, or if you only have a matchbox-sized garden to play in, it can be tough – that’s why we’ve got some fun, easy ideas on how to make the most of the great outdoors on page 64. A very modern lullaby Like any parent, you’ll do anything to get your baby to sleep, even if that means taking a drive to help her nod off to the soothing sound of your car. Understanding this, Nissan have teamed up with sound designer and sleep coach, Tom Middleton, to create a lullaby which imitates the peaceful sound frequencies of a humming combustion engine. Made up of five three-minute tracks, the Nissan LEAF ‘Dream Drive’ lullaby contains a combination of white, pink and brown noise to help send your tot snoozing. So, whether you’ve got an electric vehicle or you simply don’t fancy heading out to the car, download for free on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Music. louise pentland where do i start?

Like most people, I like to share the highlights of my life on social media, but recently I had a week so challenging that I forgot about the highlights and just shared the full reality of it – my toddler pushed me to the boundaries of my limits — and back again! We’ve all heard of the ‘terrible twos’ haven’t we? When Darcy was two she would occasionally have a big cry in a supermarket or throw herself on the ground at the park. I knew the techniques to help her (soothing words, stroking her back, a nice cuddle) and within a couple of minutes we’d be on our way again. I figured that when Pearl hit the same age, we’d be in the same boat. Let me tell you,…

happy and healthy

This is my lovely, smiley three-month-old baby, Oliver. In pregnancy I developed gestational diabetes, which meant I had to be induced early and Oliver had to spend time in hospital. I really wanted to breastfeed, but as he wasn’t with me all the time, it was difficult to establish. Although I felt guilty initially, with the support of my wonderful husband, parents, family and friends, I came to realise things don’t always go to plan and that’s OK; it’s more important that my baby is healthy and happy! To mums going through the same thing, don’t be hard on yourself – do whatever feels right. When Ollie gives me a cheeky smile, nothing else matters.
