STEAM BATHS Q I would like to find out what your thoughts are on going for a steam bath or sauna at the gym. I'm a ware that it’s beneficial in many ways in terms of sweating out toxins, but is it counterproductive in terms of sweating out important nutrients and minerals? When would you suggest that I steam bath or sauna as I’m doing it four times a week after gym sessions? Is it bad or will it minimise my gains by going it so frequently? Darren Bedier A I have personally never made use of the sauna or steam room at the gym in my pursuit of a better, more muscular physique. Furthermore, in my 20 years of competitive bodybuilding I’ve never come across a successful physique athlete or bodybuilder…

THE SAME APPLIES TO A FAT BURNER OR A PRE-WORKOUT THAT CONTAINS CAFFEINE. It’s because the body builds up a resistance to caffeine, the active ingredient within all these products. With that said, it’s not just caffeine that does this in the body. There are a wide variety of products out there that contain substances that we can develop tolerances to, some legal and others not so. To help you achieve the greatest effect from the supplements you use to boost your performance and reach your goals (or simply enjoy the same caffeine kick from…
