‘Oh, take the kids and leave for a couple hours.’ —JASON BIGGS, joking about the sexiest thing his wife can do for him, to People ‘I wanted to go home and have sex that night and [he was] like, “Okay, don’t get [it] too messed up.” I was like, no guarantees, thanks.’ —CHRISTINA AGUILERA, on borrowing a wig from her hairstylist to use in the bedroom, to Paper Magazine ‘When I realized that I was pregnant, I was like, “Oh my God. How am I going to play?”’ —SERENA WILLIAMS, revealing her first thought after learning she was expecting, on Being Serena ‘It’s hilarious to me that you can work for six years on a show, 120-something hours, and it gets boiled down to three seconds.’ —JAMES VAN DER BEEK, on his Dawson’s Creek ugly-cry face meme,…

Why did you want to do this film? The calibration of this woman I play. She keeps her family together right up until the point where she explodes. It’s this really brilliant slow burn. What was the most challenging part of the production? We had this fight scene, and you’re shooting at night and you’re tired and it’s late. Anyone who’s been in a fight knows it’s exhausting getting angry! But it was also really fun. Describe your perfect day off. Being with my son [Henry, 9] and my boyfriend [Neville Wakefield] and his kids at my little tiny beach house and making a giant dinner with everyone sitting around watching a movie that I usually pick and then they all hate. How have you stayed grounded? My family and the incessant rejection in this job I…

‘She is wonderful for bringing her cause to the front line’ Suzanne Glover via people.com Mariska Hargitay Mariska is awesome in her role as Olivia Benson on Law and Order: SVU, and I applaud her for her Joyful Heart Foundation. She is a superheroine! Melissa Patterson via e-mail I was amazed by the episode of SVU about rape kit backlogs years ago. Thank you, Mariska, for making your documentary I Am Evidence and for shining a light on all the untested rape kits in collection facilities around the country. Joelle Knopf via people.com She is such an inspiration. I love Mariska so much! She is part of the reason I switched to be a criminal-justice major! Taylor Marie via people.com I admire Mariska as an actress and as a woman. Sharon Johnson via people.com Roseanne Barr Whether anyone likes the real Roseanne…

criminal charges in waterslide death

Long before 10-year-old Caleb Schwab was decapitated as he rode down the world’s tallest waterslide (People, Aug. 29, 2016), park officials knew the attraction was dangerous, authorities now say. Schlitterbahn Waterpark co-owner Jeffrey Wayne Henry and two employees, as well as two companies involved in building and operating the 17-story Verrückt in Kansas City, Kans., were indicted on March 21 on various charges, including reckless second-degree murder, in Caleb’s death. The allegations—denied by the accused—detail a “rushed” and irresponsible design process from the ride’s conception to its opening. Caleb’s dad, Scott Schwab, said in a statement, “While we as a family continue to mourn and heal, we thank the community for its continued prayers and support.” Follow us on Twitter @people Like us on Facebook facebook.com/peoplemag Follow us on Instagram @people VICTORIA WILL; DAVID STRICKLAND/AP; JILL TOYOSHIBA/THE…

nate berkus & jeremiah brent welcome a baby boy!

Interior designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent welcomed their second child, son Oskar, on March 26. And the couple—who married in 2014—chose a surprising namesake for their baby boy: Berkus’s former partner Fernando Bengoechea, who died in the 2004 Sri Lankan tsunami. “His middle name was Oskar,” Berkus, 46, says of the poignant inspiration, which his husband, 33, suggested. “He’s a part of our love story,” explains Brent. “It’s such an important chapter in Nate’s life. So the idea that we can honor his memory in a beautiful way was exciting to us.” The couple, also parents to daughter Poppy, 3, couldn’t be happier with their “little tribe” of four. Adds Brent: “We’re having the most beautiful time.” Introducing Oskar Michael Brent-Berkus March 26, 2018 8 lbs. 2 oz.…
