CHOOSE YOUR WORDS WISELY
If you ever want to have a little fun the next time you go shooting with other people, purposely start calling magazines “clips.” You’ll hear gasps, see eye rolls and be given lectures about the correct terms regarding that thingmajig that holds bullets. You’ll probably then be given a Nerf gun for everyone’s—yours included—safety. When people start using and throwing terms around firearms that are incorrect, we’ll always suspect that person of having little to no knowledge of firearms or, even worse, someone looking to do cultural damage to the firearm lifestyle. A good example is the politically made phrase “assault rifle.” AR does not stand for “assault rifle,” it stands for ArmaLite Rifle, but that term was made to vilify a whole category of firearms, which led to a ban…
