‘London’s beautiful Richmond Park is the most visited National Nature Reserve (p48)’ Where are we? Richmond Park, south-west London Why tour here? First-time visitors to Richmond Park are often surprised to find this oasis on the edge of the capital. Surrounded by other beautiful open spaces, including Bushy Park and Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and Wimbledon and Putney Commons, it’s the emerald in a crown of urban green. Your recent Know how guide to Caravan Cuisine (issue 453) got me thinking about the perfect recipe for a caravan holiday. Ingredients: family, friends and/or pets (the more the merrier!), fantastic campsite, great location. Method: Take your time, mix well and enjoy the ride. No need to rush, you’ll get there eventually. Get everyone to pitch in with games, activities, cooking – and washing up! Take a walk, visit the beach, head into town, watch the sunset. Enjoy a drink or two and the odd yarn around the campfire. Relax… relax some more… relax some more. Season well with love and laughter. Serve immediately.
