Our big tractor test this month is on John Deere’s 6R150 model. I have purposely removed the gap between the 6R and 150 (the format that Deere prefers) as I do with most model names that insist on spreading out. Me trying to poke the bear? Or the Deere? Nah. Not at all. In fact, there's sound reasoning to my logic. In an article, the spaced-out model designation could be broken over two lines, and it also prevents the reader momentarily guessing whether we're writing about the range or the model. It's equally annoying if you're naming three or four models at once i.e. 6R 120, 6R 130, 6R 140. So do you put 6R 120, 130, 140 or my preferred 6R120, 6R130, 6R140? This is the sort of thing…
