As we stitch this magazine together, we are at that tricky time in the calendar — even though the mag is dated the January 2022 issue, it reaches you in 2021. So, do we refer to 2022 as next year? Or do we take a forward-thinking stance and pretend we are already in 2022? I've opted to go with the latter, my reasoning being that in a couple of years' time, when looking back through this issue, you'll possibly have forgotten that it (hopefully) landed on your doorstep in December 2021. No cabs and bright paintwork – certainly draws attention. A recent demonstration of a batch of autonomous machines at a Chinese experimental farm. The details are limited, but all are apparently designed and built by Haoyun Technology, a subsidiary of Guangdong-based property development company Country Garden. Compatible with all machines with Selectable Joystick Control dating back to 2004, benefits of being able to operate outside the cab include eliminating blind spots up front when lifting and carrying large loads.
