If Microsoft decided to place Windows 10 on a strict diet, which features would it lose? The Registry Editor would go, it seems, along with wallpapers, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, and many built-in apps, such as Paint, Maps and Photos.
These are all missing from a mysterious new version of the operating system (OS), called Windows 10 Lean. It was spotted in a preview build of Redstone 5, the codename for the Feature update due in the autumn.
A Windows aficionado named Lucan posted a screenshot on Twitter (www.snipca.com/27680, pictured), calling it a “heavily cut down” version of the full system, weighing in at 2GB smaller than Windows 10 Pro.
