Cal Crutchlow’s weekend, at least results-wise, was held back by stability problems at the super-fast Silverstone circuit. The British rider, who was replacing Maverick Viñales in the Monster Yamaha squad, was pleased with the weekend, but explained to MCN that his Yamaha was shaking, at times uncontrollably, which caused problems in braking areas.
“Fabio’s bike wasn’t stable either, but what we need to figure out is why the other bikes are so stable,” Crutchlow said.
“I lost a lot of time. It’s a long race when the bike is shaking on lap two, and sometimes scary because if you’re going into turn two, where Marc [Marquez] crashed in FP1, the bike is completely lock-to-lock shaking, you essentially have no brakes.”
