Flotsam and jetsam

It is nice and warm down here in the Corribee’s cabin. It has been a longish, coolish sail in these Hebridean waters, but now the anchor is down and the chilli con lava is bubbling away in the saucepan. It is the ship’s speciality, made from a tin of haricot beans, some chorizo, a tin of tomatoes, many onions, a chicken stock cube and various chillies left over from previous expeditions.
Oh, and a slosh of red wine. Has it gone off? Quick swig. No, it’s fine.
