I always feel melancholic at the end of the summer. I wish I could be one of those people who gets excited to throw on a jumper or watch the leaves turn to rust but, for me, the drop in temperature and drawing in of the nights signals a farewell to my favourite season, with many long months before the promise of more sun-baked mornings, suppers in the garden and far-flung adventures (should we ever have those again…).
