Happy Past Year
In the midst of discussing whether we’d broken the back of our Christmas shopping yet, who was booking the ice-skating this year and what on earth we’d do for New Year’s Eve, my friend and I caught ourselves – had it always been this full-on? And also – when is enough, enough? I’m a big fan of making everything fabulous, and this festive season is imbued with even more expectation after last year’s was such a washout. But sometimes my perfectionism can go into overdrive. I want every moment to be meaningful, so I put pressure on myself to deliver the biggest, best experiences possible – which is inevitably setting myself up for failure.
