in the air to knight

from $80,000 / lucidmotors.com If Netflix ever wanted to do a Knight Rider remake, or someone were to bankroll a fourth instalment of Back to the Future (see p98), the all-electric Lucid Air might be the perfect star car… because this advanced Tesla S rival is so quick it’s practically travelling in time. The tortoise and the Air Lucid says the Air can cover the quarter-mile dash in 9.9 seconds without so much as breaking a sweat. That’s faster than any Tesla, outpaces Porsche’s Taycan Turbo S and even matches McLaren’s mighty 720S, which by the way is twice the price. It has the equivalent of an insane 1080bhp under the bonnet, taking you from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 168mph, making Doc and Marty’s 88mph DeLorean…

tony hawk’s pro skater 1 + 2

In the ’90s, the Tony Hawk skateboarding series took a niche sport and turned it into a mainstream phenomenon. But each new entry got further away from what made the early games so good. We had downhill racing, throwaway storylines and misfiring skateboard peripherals before what was supposed to be a return to the series’ roots with Pro Skater 5. And we don’t talk about Pro Skater 5. Sometimes it’s best to go back to the start – and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 proves it. This is THPS as you remember it: the first two games in their entirety but with a stunning HD paint job and modern additions making them feel brand new. The first time you drop into the opening Warehouse level feels like revisiting an…

marvel’s avengers

Destiny with superheroes is a tantalising power fantasy; and in Marvel’s Avengers, Iron Man flies and shoots repulsor beams, Thor hits hard with both Mjölnir and thunder, and Hulk? “Hulk smash!” But after one of the most epic storylines ever on the big screen, it was always going to be tough for the game plot to live up to expectations. To its credit, MA doesn’t attempt to one-up. Thanos instead focuses on newcomer Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel (set to get her TV debut on Disney+). We’re first in her shoes as a fan-fiction finalist attending an Avengers event. Her fresh-faced energy is infectious, and she continues this nerdy reverence even after discovering her own stretchy powers. The single-player campaign unlocks the Avengers roster but always brings Kamala back to the core.…

?wtf is lg’s puricare face mask?

Bane’s had an upgrade since The Dark Knight Rises… Ahead of his time in a way, wasn’t he? While the funny voice might not have caught on, we’re all now wearing masks every time we want to pop out for a pint of milk. Sure, you could pick up a box of cheap disposable ones online or make one out of an old pair of pants (washed), but you’re a Stuff reader – wouldn’t you rather have something that ticks a few tech boxes? It’s not going to turn me into a supervillain, is it? Only if there’s one already inside you waiting to come out. The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier (£tba, lg.com) does exactly what its name suggests. Not only are there two H13 HEPA filters inside, but it also has a…

tablets

HOT BUY 1 Apple iPad Pro from £769 / stuff.tv/iPadPro The old iPad Pro was already our favourite tablet by miles, and the latest update only makes it more desirable. As before, it isn’t cheap; but with its huge and super-slick 120Hz Liquid Retina screen, ludicrously speedy internals and double-lens camera (like the one in the iPhone 11), this is one working device to rule them all. Since Apple added cursor support to iPadOS, it’s also the best tablet to replace your laptop – and a glimpse into the near future of computing. Stuff says Apple’s mega-tablet evolves into an outstanding piece of kit and pulls even further ahead of the pack 2 Apple iPad (2019) from £349 / stuff.tv/iPad2019 The new model on p9 of this issue brings some worthy upgrades to the entry-level iPad; but if…

licence to keel

from £220 / honda.co.uk/marine, urbantruant.co.uk DAY 01 You know in Spectre when Daniel Craig speeds down the Thames, first alerting thousands of people to the location of MI6’s new HQ then flagrantly endangering innocent lives by blowing up a helicopter over a heavily built-up area? Stuff of dreams, isn’t it? While Honda’s Marine division won’t condone either act, they do believe that gaining a powerboat licence, navigating your way on the water and owning your own vessel is an achievable reality that costs less than you think. All in, the training costs under £300 and means that in a few days I should be free to carry out high-speed manoeuvres By partnering with boatbuilders, Honda can supply its four-stroke engines – developed since 1964 to reduce water pollution and not disturb the poor fishies…
