As the months of the year pass us by and we head into the second half of the year, the weather is starting to change from long, sunny days to more cooler and, disappointedly, grey days here in the UK. But as Autumn approaches, I can’t help be excited, as I love the crispness in the morning air, the trees changing colour and being able to walk through crunchy piles of leaves... as long as I don’t have to rake them! So in the spirit of the changing seasons, we have filled this issue with autumnal projects. From new designer Véronique Diligent’s stunning Célestine Quilt on the cover to Yasmeen Branton’s 3rd cushion in our seasonal series, featuring pumpkins and blackberries. Falling in love with quilting! Here is my very first quilting project, of which I am very proud. I bought the fabric many, many years ago with the intention of making pram and bed quilts for my children but lost my nerve. I finally took the big step at Easter and finished this lap quilt in about three weeks. It makes me think of beautiful sunsets in the Mexican desert. I have absolutely been bitten by the quilting bug and now have my second, third, fourth and fifth projects planned out! Meridith, Devon Wow, Meredith! We adore the gorgeous colourway you’ve used in this quilt and how the tones melt into each other across the design. We can’t wait to see more of your projects! DAISY, DAISY... Thanks to lockdown, I have been able to…
