meet and greet

EVERY MAY, ADVERTISERS, STARS, AND executives gather at the Upfronts in New York City, a presentation of the networks’ new shows and schedules for the upcoming season. It’s a great couple of days filled with fresh and familiar faces, featured this issue in an exclusive photo portfolio by the legendary Mary Ellen Matthews. (If your reaction to this scary and sophisticated show is anything like those of the Upfront audience, get ready to sleep with your lights on.) We’re also happy to highlight some of our favorite people in new roles: our beloved Patricia Heaton (Carol’s Second Act) and the incomparable Gayle King, Anthony Mason, and Tony…

Starring: Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp Why We Love It: Wickedly smart and seriously creepy, Evil’s marriage of science and religion makes it the fall show of our dreams (or is that nightmares?). Batwoman What It’s About: After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of survival training, wealthy heiress Kate Kane…
