Spin-off success! The start of I’m a Celebrity… South Africa, featuring jungle returnees such as Phil Tufnell and Carol Vorderman (right) in a new location, drew 4.3m viewers to ITV1 on 24 April. It beat BBC1’s Blue Lights (1.5m), although all eps of that show were already on BBC iPlayer. Gordon dips The second series of BBC1’s Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars continued to dip, attracting just 0.9m viewers on 27 April. Best known for… Jerry became a household name with his raucous talk show Jerry Springer, which ran on US TV from 1991 to 2018. British versions of the show ran on ITV in 1999 and 2005. He also hosted America’s Got Talent from 2007 to 2008 and Judge Jerry (2019-2022). Other achievements… Jerry had been a politician and was Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1977-78. His parents were German-Jewish refugees and he found out more about his family roots in an episode of Who Do You Think You Are?. Family life… Jerry died, aged 79, of pancreatic cancer on 27 April at his home in Chicago. He is survived by his daughter Katie.…
