Wonderful Witness The new series of forensic crime drama Silent Witness, starring Emilia Fox (right), launched on BBC1 on 2 January with an audience of 4.3m. It beat the opener of ITV1’s Stonehouse, starring Matthew Macfadyen, which drew 2.5m viewers. Royal runner-up ITV1’s Harry: The Interview, in which Prince Harry talked about his relationship with his family and his upcoming autobiography, drew an audience of 4.1m on 8 January. Best known for… Stephen played eye-patched space baddie Commander Travis (right) in the first series of BBC sci-fi series Blake’s 7 in 1978. He also starred as gangster publican Harry Fenning in popular BBC1 sitcom Citizen Smith in the 1970s alongside Robert Lindsay. Other achievements… Stephen had roles in soaps Coronation Street, EastEnders and Doctors, and most recently appeared as Speaker of the House Bernard Weatherill in season four of The Crown on Netflix in 2020. Family life… Stephen died on 23 December, aged 78. The actor is survived by his grown-up twin sons, Daniel and Joe.…
