Best known for… Carole starred in the 1980s New York cop show Cagney & Lacey, playing Donna LaMarr, the brassy girlfriend of detective Christine Cagney’s dad Charlie. Previously, she’d worked with Lucille Ball on The Lucy Show from 1963 to 1968 as well as spin-off Here’s Lucy, which ran until 1974. Other achievements… She also starred in the 1984 movie Sixteen Candles, where she played Grandma Helen, and had roles in American Gigolo, Grey’s Anatomy and Dynasty.
