Royal revelations Oprah with Meghan and Harry, which aired on ITV on 8 March, pulled a huge audience of 11.3m. It easily beat BBC1’s MasterChef, which lost more than 1m viewers from the previous week. Cop flop The second episode of the second series of detective series McDonald & Dodds on ITV on 7 March lost 400,000 viewers compared with the previous week, attracting 3.6m viewers. It was beaten by BBC1 crime thriller Bloodlands, which was watched by 5.4m.…

Best known for… Ronald starred as ageing ladies’ man Norman Cousins in the popular 2012 film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its 2015 sequel. He also played the Archbishop of Canterbury Geoffrey Fisher in The Crown. Other achievements… The actor began his TV career in 1964 with a role in Doctor Who before going on to appear in Coronation Street, Foyle’s War, Doc Martin and Silent Witness. He starred in 2018 film Darkest Hour as Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. Family life… Ronald died on 24 February, aged 80, and is survived by his wife of 57 years, the actor Lans Traverse, and their two children, Rachel and Simon.
