England’s opening football match of Euro 2020 on 13 June was the most-watched game of the tournament up to that point, with 7.2m tuning in to watch the Three Lions beat Croatia 1-0 at Wembley. Criminal figures The first episode of C4’s three-part crime docuseries In the Footsteps of Killers, fronted by Emilia Fox, attracted just 850,000 viewers at 10pm on 9 June. Best known for… His breakthrough role come in 1972 film Deliverance, about a canoe trip that takes a dark turn. He also starred as Lex Luthor’s henchman Otis in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1981) and voiced villainous Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear in Toy Story 3 (2010). Other achievements… On TV, he appeared in famous US series including The Waltons, The Rockford Files, Hawaii Five-O, and Murder, She Wrote. He also played J Edgar Hoover in the miniseries Robert Kennedy and His Times. Family life… Ned died from natural causes on 13 June, aged 83, at his LA home. He had eight children and was married four times.…
