Best known for… Max went by the name Christopher Wenner when he started co-presenting BBC’s Blue Peter in 1978. He left the show in 1980 to become a TV news journalist and he adopted his mother’s maiden name Stahl. Other achievements… He went on to become a top documentary filmmaker and TV journalist, getting footage of the East Timor massacre in 1991. In 2000 he was honoured with awards at the New York Film Festival and the UK Royal Television Society. Family life… Max died from cancer on 27 October in Brisbane, Australia, aged 66. He was a married father of four and leaves behind a widow, Ingrid.…
