Trooping the Colour scaled down again
Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s official birthday parade, will not go ahead in its traditional form this year, Buckingham Palace has announced. An alternative parade may still take place – possibly in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle, where last year’s scaled-down Trooping took place. “Following consultation with Government and other relevant parties it has been agreed that The Queen’s Official Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not go ahead this year in its traditional form in central London,” a statement from the Palace read. “Options for an alternative Parade, in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle, are being considered.” Buckingham Palace also announced that the annual Garter service, due to take place in June, has been cancelled.
