(PICTURE: EMMA WEBSTER)Doing up a house is an intense labour. The dream scenario is to appoint a marvellous interior designer, explain clearly your heart’s desire, move family plus dogs into a fine hotel, and then return some six weeks later to a perfectly constructed and spotless vision of your new and improved abode. AFRICAN STYLEKUDU HOMEAfrican homewares are finally starting to receive the attention they deserve in the West. With big brands like Moroso and cutting-edge designers, such as Stephen Burks, championing the continent’s crafts, they’re reaching a new audience – one that’s set to grow with the launch of Kudu Home, founded by British-South African Thandi Mbali Renaldi, who works with artisans across Africa. In its online boutique you’ll find everything from beadwork antelope wall trophies (right, £86) to woven bowls by Swaziland cooperative Gone Rural (from £27; kuduhome.com).ITALIAN CRAFTSTORIES OF ITALYWe’re used to Italian brands wowing us with statement furniture, but what about the nation’s craft scene?
