Photography is changing. Back in the day, you had to send your holiday snaps to the chemist to be developed before you could enjoy them. Then came digital photography and you could review them on your camera or computer as soon as you’d taken them. Bad snaps could be deleted and you could pick and choose what you printed, but of course, you still had to have your camera to hand before taking a pic. We’d been crying out for it for years, but they ignored us. They even banned third-party camera apps from the app store if they allowed it. Does it make sense to you?Mary Dawkins, Cardiff, WalesEditor Says: Yes – and no. Apple has long been resistant to apps using onboard controls for anything other than what they were originally intended to do. This may seem tight, but it works in our favour in the end…

Yes, some people do still use snail mail.High Hopes?Q: I wonder if you could help me, I’m looking for a laptop stand that raises the computer off the desk by about 20cm, which is more than most can manage. Do you know of any nice-looking laptop stands that could raise a notebook to this height?Martin Atkinson, Bath, SomersetA: That is indeed a tall order (ouch!) Most notebook raisers can only reach around 15cm or so. We’re told the Supreme Dual Pivot Adjustable Laptop Stand can manage…
